Where is your poppy?
It is alarming and disappointing every November when fewer and fewer people (of all age groups) wear poppies. We often talk about the importance of Canadian traditions, values and sacrifice, and wearing a poppy seems like an easy way to show our respect. I am equally dismayed that owners of both large and small businesses do not force employees to wear a poppy during their shifts. “Lest We Forget” is more than a slogan: wearing a poppy is a visible reminder that no, we will not forget.

Dear Prime Minister Carney!
If you returned from all your walking around Europe and AsiaI was wondering if you noticed that President Trump gave $2,000 to American citizens! Almost everyone except the very rich will get it. Six weeks until Christmas. Now I think that if our elections were held this year, we would all be happy, relaxing, knowing that we have something coming from the government other than a bill! I understand that the money the Americans received came in part from our tariff money that Canada was forced to pay, so how about a little pre-Christmas joy for those of us? Being able to buy a beef roast would be a dream come true! I am very proud to be Canadian and respect all of our military personnel who serve and those who have served. I appreciate that we live in a pretty great country, but oh my, the aromatic aroma of beef and Yorkshire pudding is a dream these days.

(At this point, those $2,000 checks are just Trump's musings on social media. But your dream of beef and Yorkshire pudding does sound like a good dream.)
All Carney's conversations
(Re: Carney says he'll add to his 'live list' nation building projects on Thursday) Let's be honest, the Prime Minister is just pulling Alberta's strings on new pipelines. Carney pulled a similar stunt during the election campaign that led to the Liberals' fourth mandate on April 28. Then it was his “elbows up” bullshit to supposedly reach a trade tariff deal with the Trump administration in Washington, DC. And we all know what happened there. Carney is a man who likes to talk a lot.
