The 24-year-old forward, currently in his first full season with the Dallas Stars, just received major recognition from the organization that gave him his first chance in the pros.
Indeed, the young man from L'Isle-Bizard signed a two-year contract extension on Wednesday. He will earn an average of $950,000 per season for the duration of the agreement.
He has six goals and 13 points in 42 games this season.
Never drafted, Grikovian signed with the Stars in March 2024 after spending three years in the NCAA with the Northeastern Huskies.
Last year, in his first full season as a professional, he scored at least 60 points in 67 games for the Texas Stars in the American Hockey League. This superb performance earned him the Dudley “Red” Garrett Memorial Award, given to the circuit's outstanding rookie.
Before crossing the border to continue his development in the United States, Grikovian played for the Lac St. Louis Lions in the U18 AAA Development League.
