Despite a 3-1 lead and 40 shot opportunities, the Boston Bruins defeated the Buffalo Sabers in overtime on Thursday night.

Striker Marat Khusnutdinov picked the perfect moment to score his first goal of the season when he beat Alex Lyon with a pinpoint strike into the top corner to seal the game.
The Bruins had just allowed two goals to the Sabers in the third period while maintaining a comfortable two-goal lead.
Josh Doane closed the gap first and then Alex Tuch scored his fourth goal of the season to get everyone back to square one. The Bruins attempted to challenge the goalie but ended up in the box instead.
Morgan Geekie scored his seventh goal in his last six games and David Pastrnak scored for the Bruins in the win.
With the Sabers, defenseman Rasmus Dahlin opened his account in the 2025-26 season with a power-play goal.
