The publisher of strategy games Hooded Horse has recently been actively releasing such hits as Lords of the Manor and 9 Kings, as well as some really interesting upcoming games like Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era. And now CEO Tim Bender has released some really interesting statistics about the company's performance.
IN Post on LinkedInBender said the publisher has “sold more than 4.5 million copies across all stores” over the past year, and its catalog has been added to Steam wishlists more than 8.5 million times. “I can't express how lucky we are to be the publishers of so many great developers,” he wrote.
“Last year, our performance was largely driven by Manor Lords—they accounted for about 60% of our copies sold and about 40% of our wishlist additions,” Bender continued. “No game this year accounts for more than 18% of copies sold or more than 12% of wishlist additions… So last year we were the 'Manor Lords publisher,' this year I think we're something more.”
“I firmly believe that the publisher demonstrates its value by delivering consistent performance across all its games. Publishers exist to serve developers, provide the best possible risk sharing and overall lift, and should be judged on how well they deliver their services, on median performance, not on standout performance,” he added.
