Hutson and Kent Hughes held talks over the weekend to reach deal with. Both sides found a common language and everyone is happy.(including Nick Suzuki) to know that the file finally settled in . However, Hutson wanted to convey a message to his CEO during negotiations over the past few days, and it's interesting. According to the American, the Habs are not far from having the resources to win one – or more – Stanley Cups in the next few years.he knows good times are coming in Montreal.
#Habs Lane Hutson on the message he wanted to convey to Kent Hughes in their conversations this weekend: “I believe we're not far away from being a team that can be a team that wins the Stanley Cup more than once – hopefully we continue to do that…”

#Habs Lane Hutson on how he plans to celebrate his new signing: “I think it's something special that we play tomorrow, so the first leg at home, that's how I'm celebrating.”

Hutson sees the core getting better every year and understands that the Canadiens will likely be really good for a long time. And it obviously played a role in his decision to sign an eight-year contract. He wouldn't have done it if he didn't believe in the team… and in that context, he wouldn't have accepted less money. So, all's well that ends well.
'After a while'
– Good question.
#Habs Martin St. Louis on what Lane Hutson brings to the team on the ice: “He's a gamer. He wants to be different, not just offensively; he's very tough defensively. He's competitive and it's contagious.”
