LA Mayor Karen Bass Makes Insulting Comparison to Violent 2025 Anti-ICE Riots – RedState

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass (D) is running for re-election. A year after the dismal failures of Palisades and Eaton Fires, which raged while she was partying in Ghana at taxpayers' expense, you would have thought she would either hide under a rock or take some responsibility.

Instead, she, like former Democratic Party Chairman Jamie Harrison, is traipsing through D-list Democrats' podcasts to reinvent and create a record that doesn't exist. Buss' latest revisionist approach: The anti-ICE riots in Los Angeles in 2025 were comparable to rowdy sports fans when the Lakers won the championship. Apparently flaming Waymos and Mexican flags are now standard in championship parades.

Bass also said the National Guard was not needed to quell last summer's riots and argued that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers are just modern-day slave patrols.

Bass and Democratic Rep. Jasmine Crockett (TX-30) apparently use the same thing. communication man.

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass counters, arguing that last year's protests against ICE did not turn into riots, and compares the vandalism and clashes between protesters and police to the actions of fans after the Los Angeles Lakers championship.

Bass was on the podcast “At Our Table with Jamie Harrison” when she noted the federalization of National Guard troops and the deployment of several hundred Marines to the city amid days of demonstrations against ICE.

While some protesters legitimately expressed their anger toward ICE, others set fire to vehicles, including those belonging to the California Highway Patrol and Waymo, and fought violently with police while elected officials insisted the demonstrations were peaceful.

“Nothing happened. Okay, we have some protests,” Bass told Harrison. “You want to know that the protests, in my opinion, amounted to a Lakers championship.”

“You know what happens after the championship, right? There are a few idiots hanging around. They get drunk and start ruining things. There was no disorder here.”

LOOK:

This is nothing new. Bass floated down this river in Egypt back in July, after the National Guard was activated to quell the chaos following June protests against ICE. A reporter confronted Bass about this, and she vehemently denied at the time that any disturbance had occurred.

LOOK:

So Bass is notorious for her revisionist history; this is what communists do. In December, RedState's Bob Hoge reported that Bass recorded a podcast interview and admitted that both sides “blew it,” referring to the terrible response to the Palisades and Eaton fires in 2025. But before the podcast aired, Bass's staff rushed to find out the truth.

Bass continues to lie and be spiteful towards ICE and the agents who choose to serve their country in this way. Later in December, Bass said in an interview with CNN that the main reason Latinos are joining the Border Patrol is because they need money, and blames the Trump economy. It's insulting, but what's even more insulting is that Bass still retains the title of mayor of Los Angeles even though she should have resigned or been recalled a year ago.

The Los Angeles Police Protective League, which is as disgusted with Bass and her lack of leadership as most Angelenos, disagrees. After all, it was their rank and file who were hit by smoke, injuries, and vehicles and equipment destroyed in the CHIRLA-funded artificial turf protests, while Bass reportedly commanded the police retreat.

When President Donald Trump deployed the National Guard, Bass used every camera she could to rant about the invasion and demanded that the National Guard leave Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles Police Protective League, the union representing rank-and-file Los Angeles Police Department officers, disagreed.

“We disagree with everyone's characterizations of the numerous instances in which these protests turned into riots,” the union's board of directors said in a statement to Fox News Digital. “All one has to do is watch videos of Waymo cars destroyed, a CHP car set on fire, vandalism, businesses looted, and police officers injured to call this criminal behavior what it was: a riot.”

Newsom's nightmare: Interim report documenting decline in FireAid fraud ahead of Palisades fire anniversary

For each of these reinvention attempts, someone needs to post a videotape proving Bass is a fraud and a liar. On the anniversary of the deadly fires that destroyed Pacific Palisades and Altadena, Bass is once again trying to pretend that she had nothing to do with the destruction and that she is doing everything she can to help citizens. rebuild.

“A year after the fires, are you surprised that so much anger is directed at you?” Haskell asked

“A little, but again, I understand the anger,” Bass responded. “Seeing the construction going on gives me hope and encourages me. But it still hurts, and I understand the grief. So I understand people's emotions, so if they need to focus it on me, you know, whatever they need to heal and get through it. I don't take it personally.”

This is Bass's world, and you're not in it. The people of Angels need to make it their personal goal to prevent this woman from being re-elected.
