New York Jets defender Kris BoydA 29-year-old man was shot in the stomach overnight in New York. He remains in critical condition at Bellevue Hospital. According to a New York Police Department spokesman.
No arrests have been made and the investigation continues after the NYPD received a 911 call at 2:09 a.m. ET on Sunday.
“We are aware of the situation regarding Kris Boyd and will have no further comment at this time,” a Jets spokesperson told CBS Sports. NFL insider Jonathan Jones. The NFL had no further comment, telling CBS Sports it remains in contact with the franchise.
Boyd is not a fit for the Jets this season. In August, he was placed on injured reserve after injuring his shoulder during a team scrimmage.
The Texas product was originally a seventh-round draft pick. Minnesota Vikings in 2019 also played for Arizona Cardinals And Houston Texans. Boyd spent the majority of his NFL career on special teams, recording 105 tackles, three passes defensed and two forced fumbles in 81 career games.
The Jets won't play Sunday after falling to New England Patriots on Thursday evening, 27-14.
