Krafton outlines plans to become ‘AI First’ company

PUBG and Subnautica owner Krafton has confirmed plans to become an “AI First” company in his latest financial report.

Publishing house, which also owns Hi-Fi Rush creator of Tango Gameworks, confirmed the ambitions first outlined in document in Korean delivered to investors on October 23, 2025.

To support this concept, Krafton has created a GPU cluster costing approximately 100 billion won (US$70 million). The company said the investment will enable “large-scale creative experimentation and organizational transformation.”

Krafton has also partnered with South Korean telecom company SK Telecom to develop its own core model with “five billion parameters” and create an “integrated AI development and deployment system” that it says will be capable of everything from large-scale training to game implementation.

“These initiatives strengthen Krafton's position as a leader in gaming AI technology and advance the development of cooperative player characters (CPC),” the earnings report continues. referring to the CCP initiative detailed earlier this year. “In the first half of 2026, Krafton plans to introduce its first CPC, PUBG Ally, in the arcade mode of PUBG: Battlegrounds, providing players with innovative strategic gameplay along with AI companions.”

Krafton said it also remains committed to finding and developing “new franchise intellectual property.” The company currently has 11 new projects in development (as of November 2025), which represents a significant increase from the five projects it had in development this time last year.
