You wanted the best, get ready to get even more best: Kiss announced a major 50th anniversary reissue their classic Alive! contains approximately 90 unreleased tracks.
Alive! The band's 50th Anniversary Super Deluxe Edition, out November 21, includes the band's 1975 live album, newly remastered from the original tapes, plus two more complete and unreleased July 1975 concerts—at Davenport, the RKO Orpheum Theater in Iowa, and the Wildwood, a convention hall in New Jersey—plus a rehearsal for the Iowa concert and several live recordings from concert at Cleveland Music Hall in June. 1975.
“For the Super Deluxe box sets, Eddie Kramer completed new mixes of these specific concerts, revisiting the original multi-track analog tapes and maintaining the integrity of the performances without overdubs,” the press release states. Alive! previously landed in Number six on Rolling StoneList of the 50 Greatest Live Albums of All Time.
Ahead of the re-release, Kiss shared an unreleased recording of “C'mon And Love Me” from a concert in Davenport, Iowa:
The Davenport and Wildwood shows also featured tracks dedicated to “Ace Frehley Guitar solo” in the spotlight deceased guitaristworking on the Dressed to Kill Tour.
In addition to all the unreleased music, Alive! Super Deluxe editions contain reproductions of ephemera from the era, including a “reissue Alive! 1975 press kit, photos, tour program, T-shirt, backstage pass, ticket stubs, posters, lenticular album cover, four reversible coasters, four guitar picks, bumper sticker, Alive! cut-out two-way mobile and much more.”
Limited to just 1,000 copies, it comes with an archival hardcover book documenting the Dressed to Kill Tour and Gotham Rock City News Volume 4 newspaper, which contains an in-depth interview with Kramer covering most of the songs.
