Kim Kardashian Said She Needed to Pass the Bar Exam on the 1st Try

Kim Kardashian said she has no room for error when it comes to the California bar exam.

In the latest episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, filmed three months before Kardashian failed the bar exam, she explained why she needed to pass the test on the first try.

The reality star said she spent about “nine hours a day” studying and was delighted to complete her studies. Hulu show “Everything Is Fair” so she can focus more on her studies.

“I'm really glad All's Fair is behind me so I can just dive into my studies and make that my No. 1 priority,” she said in Season 7, Episode 4 of the series.

In a confessional, Kardashian admitted that she felt “exhausted.”

When a producer asked her if she was “nervous” about going to a bar, she said yes.

“Yes! Absolutely. I'm not ready yet,” she said. “You know, you feel like you don't know anything, and then everything clicks, and then you feel like you don't know it. It’s just the craziest, most emotional rollercoaster.”

“I really need to pass the exam on the first try,” Kardashian added. “I don’t have a few more months before I can give up.”

The State Bar of California released results for the July 2025 exam on November 7, announcing that 54.8% of test takers passed the exam. Just over 7,300 people took the test, 73.9% of whom took the test for the first time. The pass rate among first-time test takers was 69.7 percent, according to the state bar association.

Kardashian's name was not included on the public pass list.

She talked about the failure in the bar in Tik Tok video which she filmed while preparing to celebrate her mother's 70th birthday. Kardashian told someone over the phone that fortune tellers had inaccurately predicted her future.

“I'm just letting you guys know that all these damn psychics we've met and are obsessed with are all fucking full of crap,” she said angrily. “They all together – maybe four of them told me I was going to take the exam, so they're all pathological liars. Don't believe anything they say.”

Last May, Kardashian graduated from the law program after six years of study. Now that she failed the bar, she will have to take the test again. The plank is given twice a year, in July and February.
