During the episode (via Entertainment Weekly), Kim went for a brain scan with a representative of the Kardashian Cinematic Universe. Scott Disick — and Dr. Daniel Amen initially brought good news for her, saying she had a “beautiful” brain and a low risk of developing Alzheimer's disease. He also noted that scans showed she was “not very stressed, anxious or depressed” and that she was “unusually positive”.
Kim then noticed “holes” in her brain scan, which she asked her doctor about. He responded that the holes indicated “low activity” in her brain.
“The front part of your brain is less active than it should be,” he said. “With your frontal lobes the way they are now, you'll have a harder time dealing with stress, and that's not good for you, especially when you're studying and preparing for boards.”
“It just can’t be true,” Kim responded, indicating that she “doesn’t accept” the conclusion drawn by the doctor, who also said the results were likely caused by “chronic stress.”
Elsewhere in the episode, Kim also revealed that a separate scan revealed she had a brain aneurysm several years ago. “I had a Prenuvo scan and they called me today and said, ‘Everything looks great. But you have an aneurysm in your brain,” she said. “They were like, ‘It’s been there for years. It was here a few years ago.”
Mentioning that the doctor who carried out that scan said the aneurysm could have been caused by “stress”, she added: “People think I have the luxury of walking away.”
