The couple bought the farm in 2021 after plans to move to California were derailed by the pandemic. Instead, they went on a completely different adventure, documenting the realities of rural life in Kelvin's Big Farming Adventure and The Fletcher Family Farm.

Reflecting on the move during an appearance on BBC Breakfast, the former Emmerdale actor explained why it felt like the right decision for him.

“I think personally I don’t want to look for any confirmation anywhere else,” he said. “I know how valuable our family is and what we do on our little family farm, and I share that with every other family farm.

“You take pride in producing food and really recognizing nature, the habitat. You're a stewards of the land, and that's a privilege.”

Fletcher Family Farm can be seen on ITVX.
