People are known to love to talk about things that don't really concern them. Sure, it can be fun, but you can just as easily look like an ass—and it's a fine line, right down to your toes.
Disgraced former actor and comedian Russell Brand Of course, he doesn't need help making an ass of himself, but he decided to use the opportunity to weigh in on his ex-wife Katy Perry's recently published relationship with Justin Trudeau do it anyway.
Speaking yesterday (December 18) at an event for Turning Point USA—yes, the conservative organization co-founded by Charlie Kirk (does the absurdity of the context negate the absurdity of the comment?)—Brand made it clear that he doesn't approve of the space-exploring pop star's new love interest.
“Listen, Katy Perry, I was married to her. I still love her and I'm glad her mom is in the room to hear me say this,” he told the crowd of MAGA supporters. “I was fine with Orlando Bloom, but with Justin Trudeau? Come on, dude! Don't put me in the same category as this guy! This globalist puppet.”
Brand added the obligatory, “Okay, thank Jesus,” just in case. This probably needs to happen every few minutes at Turning Point USA events so these people can continue to believe in their righteousness.
In case you missed it, Perry and Bloom, who have five-year-old daughter Daisy Dove, ended their nine-year relationship back in June. Perry and Trudeau were spotted having dinner together for the first time in Montreal at the end of July and have held the collective imagination's attention ever since with how strangely perfect they are for each other.
Watch a clip of Brand's scathing rant below. In May, the self-proclaimed “thought leader” pleaded not guilty to charges of charges of rape, sexual assault and indecent assault in an ongoing criminal trial in the UK relating to alleged incidents involving four women.
