“It's not what you did/It's what you didn't do/You were there but you weren't/I'm so used to you letting me down,” Perry sings at the start of the song.

The music video also begins with her washing dishes and the ring falling down the drain.

Hand to God, I promised I tried

There's no stone left unturned

This is not what you did

This is what you didn't do

You were there but you weren't there

I'm so used to you letting me down

It's no use sending flowers now.

I tell myself that you will change, but you don't.

Bandages over a broken heart

Tried all the medications

Lowered my expectations

Made all the excuses

Bleeding, bleeding, bleeding slowly

Bandages over a broken heart

On the bright side

We had a good time

Never faked our photos

We were perfect

Until we were

Now we have too many pieces

I'm so used to you letting me down

It's no use sending flowers now.

I tell myself that you will change, but you don't.

Bandages over a broken heart

Tried all the medications

Lowered my expectations

Made all the excuses

Bleeding, bleeding, bleeding slowly

Bandages over a broken heart

It's not that hard

Ask me how my day is

I'm trying my best to save this

Bleeding, bleeding, bleeding slowly

Bandages over a broken heart

If I had to do it again

I'd still do it again

The love we made was worth it in the end

Oh yeah, oh yeah

If I had to do it again

I'd still do it again

The love we made was worth it in the end

Oh yes

Tried all the medications

Lowered my expectations

Made all the excuses

Bleeding, bleeding, bleeding slowly

Bandages over a broken heart
