Kamala Harris, former vice president and failed presidential candidate, has unveiled plans to create a political action committee calledFight for the people“, describing it as a vehicle for travel, speaking out and supporting Democratic candidates through fundraising.
The text message, sent under the subject line “My Solution – Kamala Harris,” outlines her motivations and goals for the new initiative and calls for massive donations before the first fundraising deadline.
“I've been careful not to send any fundraising messages since the last election,” the message begins, “but I wanted to take a few minutes to tell you about how I've decided to approach this moment in time—and why I hope you're still with me in this fight.”
In his message, Harris cautions against viewing current events as simply disorganized or disordered. “Some people have described what has been happening in recent months as absolute chaos. And of course I understand why. But please, let's not be fooled into thinking that everything is chaos. What we are seeing is a rapid implementation of a program that has been decades in the making.”
The former vice president emphasized her intention to remain politically active through her PAC, saying, “I'm going to travel, speak out, and help elect Democrats everywhere, and I can't do it alone.” She noted the importance of meeting early fundraising goals: “Donations will be critical. Especially before our first FEC fundraising deadline expires in a few days, and we are legally required to report what we have raised. Everyone will be watching, and I hope to file a big report.”
The text ends with a link to the fundraiser and a message to supporters: “Knowing that you are still with me in this fight means a lot. “Kamala.”
The announcement came on behalf of Harris continues her public profile through media appearances, including a recent interview on Rich little girls broke podcast where she gave dating advice. She encouraged women to “be kind to yourself and choose someone who is kind” and described relationship dynamics in terms of a “Friday night” phase and a “Sunday morning” phase. In an interview with ABC's Jimmy Kimmel on December 18, Kamala Harris protected the Biden administration's approach to releasing documents related to Jeffrey Epstein, saying, “We firmly and rightly believed that there should be an absolute separation between what we wanted as an administration and what the Department of Justice was doing.”
Her response drew criticism from left-wing pundits and social media personalities who wanted the Biden White House to act more aggressively, while conservative commentators pointed to her remarks as further evidence of what they claim is collusion between the Biden White House and the Justice Department in legal efforts aimed at Donald Trump. Harris also said she hasn't spoken to President Joe Biden in “about three or four weeks” and acknowledged she didn't get the support she needed from “certain places in the administration” during her 2024 campaign.
