Justice Department is examining handling of mortgage fraud investigation into Sen. Adam Schiff – Brandon Sun

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Justice Department is reviewing the progress of the mortgage fraud investigation into Sen. Adam Schiff, including the potential involvement of people who said they acted at the direction or direction of two Trump administration officials who were pushing forward an investigation into the California Democrat, according to a document reviewed by The Associated Press.

Federal authorities involved in the Schiff investigation in Maryland on Thursday interviewed the Republican congressional candidate who has filed mortgage fraud charges against the lawmaker and asked her about any contacts she may have had with Justice Department official Ed Martin and Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Bill Pulte. The interview took place after the woman received a subpoena asking her to provide information about her communications with people claiming to be working at the direction of Pulte and Martin.
