We all have debts that need to be paid off, but some of them are so bad that they might inspire a whole new video game.
Samson: The Tyndalston Story is the first game from Liquid Swords, a new studio from the former Avalanche Studios (Simple matter) Christopher Sundberg, and it just debuted during the PC Gaming: Most Wanted show this afternoon.
IN SamsonPlayers take on the role of Samson McCray, described by Liquid Swords as “a man fighting to stay ahead of a crushing debt that grows larger by the hour” in a game “built around debt, consequences and survival in one of the most unforgiving cities imaginable.”
“We built Samson “Strike fast and leave a mark,” Sundberg said in a press release. “This is a raw, physical story with systems that fight back at every turn. This is the beginning of what Liquid Swords is, and the team has created something real. We went through a difficult cycle of change and honed every part of our work. The entire industry is under pressure right now. Samson this is our response to this reality: a purposeful project created with intention, not excess. That's how we move forward.”
Sports “down to earth and punishing” fight, Samson has a unique system in which “every job burns up a limited supply of action points, and every decision changes the city’s attitude towards you,” while the developer warns that “there are no reworks.”
The action-packed trailer and screenshots show off plenty of vehicle-based gameplay as well as hard-hitting hand-to-hand combat, which sounds promising for a studio made up of developers who have worked on games like “Just Cause”, “Mad Max”, “PayDay”, And Battlefield.
Samson: The Tyndalston Story is due to release on PC via Steam and Epic Games Store in early 2026, where it already has several notable games. It's available steam wishlist Now.
