Will we witness the rise of Juraj Slafkowski?
The big Slovakian was one of the team's best strikers in recent times. He performs his role to perfection, giving the Canadiens one of best top three in the National League.
You can see why he was at least the first choice in the 2022 auction.
What I like now is Slough's goal-scoring ability. He is active on the ice, which helps him be successful offensively. After all, he already has five goals.
And over a full 82-game season… that gives him a 37-goal pace. Which is very good, thank you very much.

We've all had a hard time with Slough at some point. It took a long time to see him become the player he is today – but it was worth the wait… because today he is irreplaceable in Martin St. Louis' lineup.
He hasn't always lived up to expectations and has received a lot of criticism in recent years. But now…he deserves a pat on the back.
He deserves praise for his performances on the ice. And if he can keep up this pace, he will not only become even more important to the Canadiens, but he will also establish himself as one of the best players in the National League.
At the end of the day, that's what you want in a first overall pick. And all the better if he can find his rhythm and continue to help the club as he has done well in recent games.
Either way, he's starting to make his mark in Montreal…
