Jovantae Barnes, Keontez Lewis to sit out vs. South Carolina

Oklahomahan Sooners need a return game this week on road vs. South Carolina Gamecocksand they will be without a couple of key players in this game.

Starting wide receiver Keontez Lewis was sidelined this week after starting the first six games of the season for the Sooners. Without Lewis, the Sooners will rely more on Javonni Gibson, JerMichael Carter, Zion Kearney and Ivan Carreon.

Also missing this week is running back Jovantae Barnes. Barnes was a key part of the Sooners' rotation, especially in the passing game. Tory Blaylock led the Sooners running backs in snaps last week against Texas and became the Sooners' leading running back this season. In addition to Blaylock, the Sooners will turn to Xavier Robinson and Jadn Ott for snaps.

Defensive end Kendel Dolby will also miss this week's game against the Gamecocks. Dolby played just four snaps last Saturday against Longhorns.

The offensive line is relatively healthy despite the absences of Troy Everett, Jacob Sexton and Jake Taylor. However, Logan Howland, who started for Oklahoma this season and has been a key part of the rotation, is questionable this week.
