As of Friday's premiere of the series' third season Book of Power IV: StrengthJoseph Sikora played unstable drug lord Tommy Egan in Power universe for 12 years. Happy final season Strengthit ends the Tommy era in Chicago. “I've got to tell you, it's a mixed bag,” Sikora says, explaining that he's sad to say goodbye to Chicago but is excited about the “web of confusion” Tommy finds himself in this season.

The premiere episode, “Do or Die,” picks up immediately after last season's finale, when Tommy learns that his criminal rival Miguel (Manuel Eduardo Ramirez) has kidnapped Tommy's girlfriend, Mireya (Carmela Zumbado), who is also Miguel's sister. Tommy is ready to go to war, but Mireya persuades him to free himself before Tommy arrives. They force a temporary peace until Miguel's plan to late kill the seemingly unkillable Tommy fails. “Do or Die” ends with Tommy abandoning his usually violent nature in favor of some long game, confronting fellow FBI informant Vic (Shane Harper) as he heads out of town. Tommy has a new job for Vic: “You'll be my Feds insider.”

For now, everyone has escaped death, but no one is ever completely safe. Power Universe. “In a lot of ways, Tommy reminds me of gangsters of the past, like Lucky Luciano, Meyer Lansky, Whitey Bulger, some of these guys who just didn't die and lived to be old and were still gangsters,” Sikora says. “Tommy cockroach, he falls, so he will survive, but that doesn't always happen. At the end of this season, what we are going to do will allow the future to happen. People need to die Strength For Power the world will continue to expand.”

The cliffhanger finale of season two made it seem like Tommy was on his way to brutally losing his third girlfriend. The Season 3 premiere reveals that she survived, but was there a chance that Mireya wouldn't survive, or would that seem like too much of a burden on Tommy?
If we had more seasons it could change things. Mireya had to be who she was at that time. She had to dedicate her life to Tommy and say: “I completely agree with you.” Then she had to be stolen because we needed to see if Tommy was interested in her. In classic Power fashionably, as soon as Tommy got what he wanted, it was taken away.

Based on his history, it seems impossible for Tommy to have it all.
Nobody has their cake and eats it too. Do you think that even with that kind of money, Jeff Bezos is always happy? No way. All these other things create problems. According to Tommy, you can't sell large quantities of drugs and not have any consequences. You can't be involved in this banditry and just think: Hey, I'll live, and if I survive, I'll live happily.. Because it's not like that. I mean, Tony Montana taught us nothing?

Scarface full of life lessons.
I think Tommy watched this movie 300 times.

When Tommy arrives at Miguel's and believes that Mireya may be dead, I don't think I've ever seen Tommy so upset or scared – and frightened that's not a word I would ever use to describe Tommy. Were you trying to exploit a vulnerability that we hadn't seen in him before?
This was the influence of showrunner Gary Lennon. He let Tommy be a little like Stanley Kowalski in A Streetcar Named Desirewhen he has gone crazy, he is angry and afraid that Stella is no more. This connection to Miguel's gang is so strong. Miguel is a worthy opponent for Tommy because Manuel Eduardo Ramirez scares the hell out of me in real life! He's such a strong actor. It is a pleasure to work opposite him.

In this episode, I saw a lot of Ghost (Omari Hardwick) in Tommy, from his strategic thinking to his selfish treatment of Diamond. What was right about slightly transforming him into the person he both loved and hated?
The Phantom once told Tommy, “We are two people with one voice, two sides of the same coin.” With Tommy, the audience felt: Oh, he can't follow the strategy that the Phantom can.. Until we enter Strength, where Gary remembered some really interesting things we learned about Ghost and Tommy and said, “Ghost did it all, but let me show you that Tommy can do it too.” If Diamond is now the same as Tommy was, does that in turn mean that Diamond can do everything Tommy can? For me this is a bigger question. This is where the excitement of season three lies, because no matter how much Diamond's brother Genard pulls him in one direction, as with Ghost and Tommy, where does his allegiance ultimately lie?

Tommy keeps Vic alive so he can use him for information. This goes back to Tommy's development of foresight, but do you think he's naive in thinking he can easily manipulate this dangerous situation?
I think it's smart, but if I were a fan, I'd hope Tommy doesn't overestimate his ability to control – not just Vic, but AUSA's Stacey Marks. I hope he doesn't underestimate anything that will lead to Vic being used as a mole. Vika is all these little animals: a mole and a rat! But he is also dangerous. And thanks to Shane Harper for playing him so realistically and investing in the role of the rat. It takes a lot for this handsome young actor to be like this: Oh I'll be that slug.

For now, the third season is the conclusion of Tommy's story, but there is talk of a new series. Strength: Legacywhich will be dedicated to Tommy and his nephew Tariq. What intrigues you about going back to the original? Power world and this complicated dynamic with Tariq? They left things in not the best place in Book of Power II: Ghost the finale of the first season.
First, Tommy must survive the show's third season. Strength. But Michael Rainey Jr. does a wonderful job developing the character of Tariq, who is just as cunning and smart as his father. And Tommy would either be a worthy adversary or a worthy guide and partner. There can always be forgiveness in a family, no matter what is said. I'd love to see what happens when these two characters reunite. Tariq is now highly educated, doing wet work and selling a lot of illegal drugs. But Tommy was raised differently. Tommy is a product of the street. It will be interesting to see how they complement each other and what they can learn from each other. There is inherent conflict in this story, as well as inherent love.

Strength ends, but we're going back to the beginning of Tommy's criminal enterprise with the prequel, Tommy and the Phantom. Origin. What will your relationship be with this new series?
I would like to direct some episodes. I just joined DGA and directed an episode. Book of Power III: Raising Kananso I think I can be active. Someone recently suggested that I be a voice-over artist on Originseems like 50 goes Kanan. So, Starz, if you're listening…
