Jonathan David and Vanessa Gilles last year's winnersis again in contention for the Canadian Football Player of the Year title.
David faces Ali Ahmed, Tajon Buchanan, Promise David, Richie Laria, Tani Oluwaseyi, Niko Sigur and Dane St. Clair.
Gilles' competition includes Marie-Yasmine Alidou, Adriana Leon, Emma Regan, Jade Riviere, Janine Sonis, Holly Ward and Shelina Zadorsky.

The men's and women's candidates were selected by the coaching staffs of the respective national teams. The winners, determined by voting by Canadian sports media and coaches, will be announced on December 19th.

Davis, who only returned to action on Tuesday against Bayern Munich after a 262-day absence with a knee injury, is not nominated this year. So does women's team captain Jessie Fleming, who has received the award from 2021 to 2023.
