2025 People's Sexiest Man Alive he's a damn handsome guy.
On the November 3 episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Jonathan Bailey was crowned the magazine's Sexiest Man Alive this year.
The “Wicked” franchise star appeared during a late-night talk show where both of his covers were revealed.
“It's the honor of a lifetime” Bailey told host Jimmy Fallonsigning your copy of the magazine.
“Couldn’t have had a nicer guy,” Fallon said, to which Bailey rejoiced, saying, “Every time I come here, it’s always something.”
Bailey, who joins a long list of Sexiest Man Alive alumni, said he learned about it earlier this year while working overseas on a production of Shakespeare's Richard III.
“In 2025, I'm thrilled that People magazine has invited someone to give this honor to a man who truly appreciates the value of a sexy man,” he said.
Bailey also talked about having his adorable dog Benson on one of the covers with him, saying, “He's such a good boy.”
Bailey won hearts as Lord Anthony Bridgerton in Netflix's historical drama The Bridgertons. He also starred in the films Jurassic World: Rebirth and The Hitcher.
Most recently, he portrayed the dashing and swooning Fiyero in Wicked and its upcoming sequel. “Wicked: For Good” will be released on November 21st.
During his interview, he also joked that he “hopes like hell” that people will treat him differently now that he's this year's Sexiest Man Alive.
Bayley takes the title from John Krasinskiwho was named the magazine's Sexiest Man Alive in 2024.
The “Office” star turned action hero told People that when he heard about the honor, he thought he might be “being scammed.”
“I don't wake up thinking, 'Is this the day I'm going to be asked to be the sexiest man alive?' And yet this was the day you guys did it. You guys have really raised the bar for me,” he said.
Krasinski added that when his movie star wife Emily Blunt learned he had been named Sexiest Man Alive, she offered to wallpaper her house with wallpaper from his People cover.
People magazine has been choosing the world's sexiest man alive since 1985, when Mel Gibson took the top spot. a long line of celebrities from all walks of life to win honor.
Bailey and Krasinski follow in the footsteps of several other Hollywood actors named Sexiest Man Alive, including the former Grey's Anatomy star. Patrick Dempsey 2023 title winner, Marvel Cinematic Universe star Chris Evanswinner in 2022, and Paul Ruddwho was crowned in 2021.
Ahead of Bailey's big reveal, a slew of past winners took part in a video where they “passed the phone” to fellow cover stars. Dempsey started the clip, followed by Blake Shelton, John Legend, Harry Hamlin, Idris Elba and many others.
