With exclusive access to an extensive, never-before-seen archive of photographs and behind-the-scenes footage, the project promises to create the definitive portrait of the writer and director who helped shape youth, music and pop culture in America.

Hughes is considered by many to be one of the most influential American directors of his generation. He is best known as the writer, producer and director of films such as “Sixteen Candles”, “The Breakfast Club”, “Weird Science”, “Ferris Buller's Day Off”, “Planes, Trains and Automobiles” And Uncle Buck. He also wrote such classics as National Lampoon's Vacation, Something Wonderful, Sweet in Pink And Home alone.
Smith's projects include Emmy-nominated documentaries. Jim and Andy, Tiger King And 100 foot wave. His first documentary American film won the Grand Jury Prize at the 1999 Sundance Film Festival. Other projects include Operation Varsity Blues and series Bad vegan.
Turner is an Emmy Award-winning producer whose recent credits include an Emmy Award nomination. Pretty Baby: Brooke Shields, BS High, Sneaker Wars: Adidas vs Puma, Merchants of Joy and Emmy nomination for Stephen Chbosky Nonna.
Hughes III is an experienced producer and former record label owner. He is the co-founder of Blue Cuckoo Pictures, a documentary film production company based in London and Chicago. Most recently, he served as executive producer of TWIN, an upcoming feature-length documentary film telling the story of two Chicago brothers and an incredible miscarriage of justice.
