NEW DELHI (AP) — John Campbell scored his maiden century as the West Indies looked to ensure India would have to fight again in cricket's second Test, reaching 252-3 in the second innings at lunch on the fourth day.
Campbell, whose previous best score was 68 against New Zealand in 2020, scored 115 off 199 balls and shared a 177-run partnership with Shai Hope as West Indies cut India's lead to just 18 runs.

At the break, Hope was approaching his third Test hundred, unbeaten on 92 runs, with captain Roston Chase not out for 23 runs.
India managed only one wicket in the morning session – Campbell lbw to Ravindra Jadeja on a slow Delhi wicket.
West Indies were bowled out for 248 runs in their first innings on Day 3, giving up a lead of 270 runs after India had declared for 518.
Shubman Gill got the follow-on but Campbell's effort looked to have prevented an innings defeat.

India leads 1-0 in the two-match series.after winning the first Test in Ahmedabad by an innings and 40 runs.
West Indies have not beaten India in their last 26 Tests (home or away) since 2002.
Campbell resumed play on Monday with 87 points to reach his triple figures in the first hour.
He reached his hundred off 174 balls, batting third six innings, and was greeted with loud applause from the visitors' dressing room.
This was West Indies' first century in the series and the overall performance improvements continued in this Test.

Jadeja finally got a breakthrough as Campbell was adjudged thick in the 64th over for attempting a reverse shot. The batter looked, but was hit.
