Joe Rogan the latest industry heavyweight to stand up against Donald Trumprepeated attacks on Rob Reiner after the tragic death of the director. Trump claimed Reiner's death was “due to the anger he caused others” due to his outspoken anti-Trump stance. Reiner's son, Nick, was arrested in connection with the death of his parents.
“There's nothing funny about the Rob Reiner thing,” Rogan said on a recent podcast featuring comedian Shane Gillies (via Entertainment Weekly). “When you see it without empathy, then it's hard to love. Look, there's no justification for what he did that makes any sense in a compassionate society. It's no different than the people who celebrated when Charlie Kirk was shot. It's the same thing.”
“Imagine if Obama tweeted something about someone after his death in this way. That the person was a deranged person who hated Obama.” Rogan continued. “It just shows how crazy the way Trump thinks and talks is. It's like the guy got cut by his kid, you know? Anyone who doesn't see it goes, 'Damn, man.'
Rogan said someone should have taken Trump's “fucking phone” away since he decided to voice his opinion on Reiner's death, and added that he was “very disappointed” by Trump's comments: “It's so disappointing. That's why… if you say it privately, that's one thing, which is also crazy, but it's so disappointing.”
Trump made his statement about Reiner in a Truth Social post that read: “A very sad thing happened in Hollywood last night. Rob Reiner, a tormented and struggling but once very talented film director and comedic star, passed away along with his wife Michelle, reportedly due to the anger he caused in others with his massive, unrelenting and incurable affliction, a mind-paralyzing disease known as SYNDROME TRUMP, sometimes referred to as TDS, has been known to drive people crazy with his raging obsession with President Donald J. Trump, with his apparent paranoia reaching new heights as the Trump administration exceeded all goals and expectations of greatness, and with the advent of America's Golden Age perhaps like never before, may Rob and Michelle rest in peace!
Hours later, Trump stepped up his criticism of Reiner when he was asked during a news conference about Republicans condemning his initial statement. He replied: “Well, I wasn't a fan of his at all. He was a deranged person, as far as Trump was concerned… I thought he was very bad for our country.”
Hollywood has widely condemned the US President for his remarks regarding Reiner. Josh Gad published in Topics: “No level is too low for this fucking psychopath. Rob Reiner was 1000 times bigger than you, and unlike you, he actually cared about the American people. Go paint a hand on your fucking gold toilet and destroy things like the White House. That's what you do best.”
Jimmy Kimmel beat Trump as “hateful and vile” for persecuting Reiner after such a tragic death. The late night host added: “What we need at a time like this, besides common sense when it comes to guns and mental health care, is compassion and leadership. We didn't get that from our president because he has nothing to give. Instead, we got a fool rambling incoherently about nonsense.”
Whoopi Goldberg, on “The View,” condemned Trump as well as all the Republicans who remain silent on the matter, saying, “There is no excuse for him to write what he wrote. There is no way to justify it and all those Republicans who are silent, damn you all. Damn you all.”
