After winning on ESPN's “Monday Night Football” Caleb Williams criticized game color commentator Troy Aikman for saying “luck” contributed to the game-winning touchdown.
A couple of days later, Williams revealed that he had not met with Aikman or his partner Joe Buck until Chicago Bears game against the Washington Commanders. Broadcasters typically meet with the head coach and quarterback before the game begins.
However, Buck said Williams violated both of those commitments to the MNF team this year.

“All these (Zoom) meetings are scheduled… We understand you guys are busy. You are preparing for the game. The last thing you probably want to do is talk to us. It's kind of part of the training, but we'll do it when it's convenient for you, in your schedule,” Buck said on “YES Average” podcast.
“We had the same problem the first week with Caleb, and then it happened again. I think he brought it up by saying, “Well, I didn't talk to Troy before the game.” But we sat on Zoom and waited forever, and he never came. I don't know what else we can do.”

“That's what bothered me the most. It was on your guys' schedule. And we sat there and we had it happen twice within the first six or seven weeks. It's whatever.”
At the time, Williams said he “tried to meet” with Aikman, but was at the team's facility “running late and the time didn't coincide with the rise or something.”
“I tried to call him after the day I was supposed to meet him, but it didn’t work,” he added.

They still have a chance to meet as the Bears are well on their way to the playoffs and ESPN is broadcasting games in both group and division rounds.
