The Victoria-Minister of Work Places of British Colombia Ravi Kalon says the government takes threats from US President Donald Trump in BC tariff films, 100 percent “very seriously”, but it is unclear how such a collection will affect the industry, or if it is really accepted.
On Monday, Trump revived the threat first made in May to introduce a tariff of 100 percent “for any films” made outside the United States.
Calon says that he will not assume what kind of future help in the BC cinema is, because it is unclear whether this last threat is “real”, or Trump “tries to wage war” with Governor Gavin News, who challenges the president.
The minister says that he is ready to talk about the financial support “when the time comes”, adding that the federal government received a significant amount of income that it applied to the channel to communities and enterprises inflicted on tariffs.
Kahlon says that the BC has already supported the industry, which corresponds to what offers other jurisdictions to attract production, and which remains affordable.
The Government of British Colombia said that it was difficult to bathe on films and television industry, because it can be written in one place, shot in another and edited in third place.
According to Kahlon, American productions do not cross the border, because they want the BC to “approve”, but from the affordable teams and their professionalism.
