Jimtown girls pick up another win

The Jimtown girls basketball team improved to 4-1 after defeating Mishawaka, 32-25, in a non-conference game on Tuesday.

The Jimmys are off to their best start since the 2010-11 season, when the program started 8-1. This year's four wins surpass last year's win total, when Jimtown finished 3-20.

Against the Cavemen, Kira Jackson scored nine points and Jordyn Williams added eight to give Jimtown a 10-2 lead to start the second quarter.

In the Hoosiers Plains Conference, Lily Maxwell scored 17 points to lead Elkhart Christian past Lakeland Christian 65-12.

Ivy Clapsaddle added 11 points for the Eagles, who improved to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in the HPC.

Shelby Emerick and Brooklyn Ganger each scored 12 points to lead Concord in a 43-34 non-conference loss to Glenn.

Lily Scholl scored 14 points to lead Northridge's balanced attack in a 51-48 win over Fairfield.

Macy Riegsecker added 12 points, Cam Conley had 11 and Allie Ambers finished with 10 points for the Raiders, who improved to 2-2.

Eve Herbert led the Falcons with 15 points and Madison Jones scored 14.

Bethany Christian got six points from Ellie Morris in a 48-15 loss to Central Noble.

Jillian Sanderson scored 18 points to lead Penn past Michigan City 61-25.

The Kingsmen, who improved to 2-1, held a commanding 29-5 lead early in the second quarter.
