IEEE Senior Member Jill E. Gostin was elected MP in 2026 IEEE President-Elect. She will take up her duties as president on January 1, 2027.
Living room, extended IEEE Board of Directorsreceived 18,546 votes in elections. Senior member David Alan Koehler received 14,193 votes.
At the time of publication, the results were unofficial until the IEEE Board of Directors accepts the IEEE Counter Committee report in November.
Gostin retired earlier this year as chief scientist Georgia Tech Research Institutein Atlanta. Her work has focused on sensor systems and software. She also served systems engineeringintegration and testing in software development and the architectural department.
Gostin attributes his career success to his publications; service and technical awards; Extensive program management experience; and leadership from academic, industry and government groups.
IEEE Leadership Positions
She has held several leadership positions at IEEE, including 2023. IEEE Member and Geographical Activities Vice President and Chairman of the Board, and 2020-2021 Region 3 director. She is the former chairman IEEE Atlanta Section And IEEE Computer SocietyAtlanta Branch.
Gostin worked on the IEEE computer and IEEE Aerospace and Electronic Systems Boards of Governing Societies and served as Vice President for Finance of the Sensors Council Executive Committee. She has also chaired or served on several IEEE organizational units and committees locally and globally.
Her leadership was recognized in 2016 when Georgia Women in Technology named her Woman of the Year. Gostin is also a 2025 honoree. IEEE Women in Technology and Leadership Award.
