NFL The trade deadline has passed and all eyes are on the New York Jets, who sent two All-Pro defensive stars, Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams, before Tuesday's 4 p.m.
While it's no surprise that the 1-7 Jets were traded at the deadline, seeing two of the team's key players on that side of the ball depart has left former teammates wondering on social media.
running back Brice Hall, who reportedly requested a trade before the deadline, and winger Jermaine Johnson reached out to X to share his thoughts on the situation.

“Sick of my brother,” Hall wrote in a since-deleted tweet with a sad emoji. “Happy for them, but man, I’m sick.”
Hall also posted memes before the deadline, which fans believed was him stirring the pot with his own situation. This comes after Gardner, who just signed a four-year extension this offseason, was sent to Indianapolis Colts in exchange for two first-round picks.

Williams, a three-time Pro Bowl defensive end, was traded to the Dallas Cowboys for a 2027 first-round pick, a 2026 second-round pick and defensive tackle Mazie Smith.
With the departures of those two, the Jets have made it clear that they are somewhat of a roster teardown, but they haven't given up on offensive stars like Hall and wide receiver Garrett Wilson.

Meanwhile, Johnson, who also posted memes in response to news of the Gardner-Williams trade, was visibly devastated to see his teammates and friends leave the Jets.
After the deadline, he shared his thoughts, including trust in the process and faith in the front office.
“I’d be lying if I said I’m glad my brothers are gone because I’m not sick. But I have a lot of faith in the organization, the staff and my other brothers in the locker room. When I was drafted, I said I wanted to be the reason or part of the reason why things change for the better, and that will remain my outlook.”
“I love this team and this fan base and you will all continue to give my best – my best performance on and off the field. Let's look forward and upward, because better things are ahead of us, and I give you my word. Go Jets always (green heart emoji).”
