New York Jets Quarterback Kris Boyd was wounded in a shooting in New York City early Sunday morning, according to multiple reports.
According to New York Police DepartmentAround 2 a.m., shots were fired on West 38th Street. When police arrived on scene, they found a 29-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital and is listed in critical condition, authorities said.
New York Post first reported that Boyd was the victim. Authorities did not immediately identify Boyd as the victim.

“We are aware of the situation regarding Kris Boyd and will have no further comment at this time,” the Jets said in a statement Sunday afternoon.

The shooting reportedly stemmed from a dispute outside the Sei Less restaurant. The New York Post reports, citing law enforcement sources, that the alleged shooter fired several shots.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
Fox News Digital has reached out to Boyd's agent for comment.

Minnesota Vikings selected Boyd in the seventh round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He spent his first four seasons in the NFL with the Vikings before joining the Arizona Cardinals in 2023. He spent one year with the Houston Texans before signing with the Jets in March.
He did not appear in any regular season games in 2025 and is currently listed on the roster as injured reserve.

The Jets lost to the New England Patriots on Thursday night and are not scheduled to play today.
