Jennifer Lawrence Proves There Are So Many Different Ways to Style Bangs

Jennifer Lawrence has been sporting bangs for the better part of a year, and she's showing no signs of letting them grow out as she continues the press tour for her latest film. Die, my love. The new film's star Lynne Ramsey (who looks like a strong contender for the 2026 Oscars) has become a standard-bearer for those who go out of their way to defend bangs.

While 35 year old Blessed with one of those chameleonic faces that look amazing with any hairstyle, she's proof that bangs don't have to look exactly the same as when you left the salon to be cute. In fact, this is one of the most versatile hairstyles a person can have.

In mid-October last year, Lawrence debuted a version of the bangs that appeared to be influenced by style icon Jane Birkin. These were thin front bangs with a blunt edge that didn't blend in with the rest of the hair. Since then she has played in many different styles, promoting Die my lovein which she plays opposite Robert Pattinson. At the Cannes Film Festival, she styled them side-parted like a boho diva; at the London Film Festival she gave them a voluminous Brigitte Bardot touch; at the New York premiere she kept them tilted to one side; and at the CFDA Awards she wore it wavy and parted on the sides.

Thus, Lawrence proves that there is more than one way to wear straight bangs. Depending on your mood and occasion, you can alternate between many styles. Are you having a summer wedding soon? Leave them natural. Are you going to an official event? Give them soft volume. Having a bad hair day? Design them using fine bristle brush. Gathering with friends for an informal dinner? Add some mousse for movement.
