Jays will face Ohtani on the mound, plate in Game 4 of World Series tonight – Brandon Sun

LOS ANGELES – Shohei Ohtani had a historic game at the plate last night.

He'll look to do just that on the mound tonight as the Los Angeles Dodgers' two-way superstar starts Game 4 of the World Series at Dodger Stadium, looking to give the defending champions a 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven fall classic.

Ohtani homered twice and set a 119-year-old major league record with four extra-base hits last night, putting on another impressive postseason show.

After his four-hit barrage in the first seven innings, Ohtani issued five consecutive walks in an epic 18-inning World Series game, making him the first major leaguer in 83 years to reach base nine times in any game, let alone the postseason. The Dodgers finally won 6–5 after Freddie Freeman scored in the top of the 18th inning.

Shane Bieber will be on the field for the Jays, who lost 16-15 in yesterday's six-hour, 39-minute contest. The Blue Jays will need to win either tonight or tomorrow to bring the World Series back to Toronto.

Blue Jays reliever George Springer was ejected in the seventh inning last night after an outfield foul. Springer immediately grabbed his right side and asked the coach to leave the dugout.

There was no update on his status after the game.
