With Peacemaker (John Cena) left stranded after his second season, he moves on to further adventures in the DC Universe, with the Lanterns next on the list. Aaron Pierre holds the ring of the Green Lantern Corps as John Stewart, accompanied by the greatest of them all, Hal Jordan, played by Kyle Chandler, in the next chapter of the DCU moving forward. HBO Max. Just don't ask the head of DC Studios, James Gunnwhen we first see it, because even he doesn't have the answer.
During a speech at BobaTalxGunn said that he had previewed the upcoming adventure with two of the coolest members of the GLC, but could not confirm when the rest of the world would do so.
“I've seen the clip, I think, or at least where it is now, but I have no idea when it's scheduled to air. As far as HBO is concerned, my experience in this regard, my knowledge in the field of marketing, is mainly based on films. I have a lot of experience marketing a lot of films and seeing things that work and things that don't work, and I'm very involved in all of that,” Gunn explained. “I'm just as involved in creating the stuff you see on TV shows, but from a planning standpoint I'm not as knowledgeable as I am in film.”
But while Gunn couldn't give a date for when these legendary ring slayers will appear in the show's first teaser, he assured that Stewart and Jordan will play a significant role in the DCU after their upcoming debut season.
“They're important characters, and that's important in and of itself, without anything else, just like Peacemaker is still an important character. And that's true, but there are other things that go far into the future in terms of what's going to happen with this series.”
This show will be released on HBO Max early next year. About every next DCU story that awaits us, check out our detailed list here.
