The upcoming James Bond game 007 First Light has been pushed back to May 27, 2026.
The long-awaited game was supposed to release on March 27, but will now release in two months.
This will be the first video game to feature the British spy since 2012's Legends 007.
IN statement Developer IO Interactive, who also creates the Hitman series, said the game is “fully playable from start to finish” but needed additional time to “further refine it.”

This will be the story of 26-year-old James Bond when he is recruited into MI6 and given his 00 title, in a separate story from the films or novels.
IN Game Awards in December 2025 IO Interactive announced that the main villain of the game will be played by American singer Lenny Kravitz.
Gameplay trailers showed some similarities. to the developer's successful Hitman franchise, and will also showcase the gadgets and cinematic settings that fans have come to expect from Bond.
But in some comments under the video, fans expressed concerns about the way the game looked, with some pointing out frame rate drops and others criticizing the use of motion blur.
In its latest announcement, IO Interactive called the game its “most ambitious project to date.”
“We are confident that this will ensure the long-term success of 007 First Light, and we sincerely appreciate the patience and continued support we have received since introducing the game,” the post reads.
