El Gallo is due to step into the ring against the lightweight champion in Miami next month… but even before the spectacle was over, there were rumors he could take on the British superstar.
Promoter Matchroom says there is still hope the fight can happen in the future… but it really depends on how Paul handles the much smaller Davis.
Hearn explains what he told Paul's Most Valuable Promotions partner: Nakisa Bidarianif Tank ends up stalling the internet superstar on November 14th… the likelihood of him getting into the ring with Joshua – who is bigger than Jake – will decrease dramatically.
He admitted that he initially wondered if Paul's side were simply using Joshua's name to help further negotiations with Davis… but given that the conversation didn't end when this match was set in stone, he realized that wasn't the case.
As for Paul's boxing ambitions, Hearn was quite complimentary… saying the former Disney star is all red hot in boxing right now.
There doesn't seem to be any animosity after these two got into their legal battle – perhaps they really are burying the hatchet by doing business together??
