Jaguars reference Sean Payton’s comments, topping NFL trolls

It's the final week of the NFL regular season. Jacksonville Jaguars are already in postseason form when it comes to pettiness.

Jacksonville beat Tennessee Titans 41-7 win the AFC South and finish third. It was the Jaguars' eighth straight win and 13th of the season, their second-most in franchise history.

Jacksonville Quarterback Trevor Lawrence threw for 255 yards and three touchdowns. He finished the season with 38 combined passing and rushing touchdowns, the most by a quarterback in Jaguars history, according to ESPN Research.

Although Jacksonville defeated Tennessee, there was another AFC opponent on his mind after the game – the top seed. Denver Broncos. Ahead of the December meeting between the two teams, Broncos coach Sean Payton said during the press conference: “When you look at them and watch the tape, it's a smaller market, but you see a really good team.”

The Jaguars haven't forgotten Payton's comment, bringing it up after their Week 16 win over the Broncos. Two weeks later, Jacksonville's graphic after the win included a reference to being a small-market team.

Here are some more of the best NFL trolls from Week 18.

Los Angeles Rams finished the regular season with a victory, defeating Arizona Cardinals Houses.

Rams Quarterback Matthew Stafford threw for 259 yards and four touchdowns as the Cardinals quarterback Jacoby Brissett had 243 passing yards and two touchdowns. Stafford finished with an NFL-best 4,707 passing yards and 46 passing touchdowns.

Los Angeles has joined the Angry Birds video game series by posting an image of a cardinal being killed with a slingshot.

Houston Texans are winners nine times in a row after defeating Indianapolis Colts.

Houston is the seventh team in the Super Bowl era to start the season 0-3 and make the playoffs. Texas Quarterback C.J. Stroud had 169 passing yards and a touchdown, but the star of the game was Fairbairn Hunter. Houston's kicker made six field goals, including the go-ahead goal with 12 seconds left, tying a single-game record.

Houston referenced Luffy's One Piece character's ultimate form, Gear 5, implying that he was at his peak against Indianapolis.

In the battle for the NFC West and the No. 1 seed Seattle Seahawks took off San Francisco 49ers on Saturday evening.

Defense was the name of the game for Seattle, which held San Francisco to just 173 yards. The 49ers' three points were their fewest since Week 1 of 2017. The game's only touchdown came on a Seahawks running back. Zach Charbonnet gained 27 yards in the first quarter.

Seattle followed up its big win with several trolls, including a reference to San Francisco's “Bang Bang Niner Gang” chant and the tape recorder players hold as they take the field before the game. The Seahawks also delivered virtual blows to three other NFC West teams.
