… Will's 'buddy' claims threat in lawsuit

Jada Pinkett Smith threatened her husband's supposed long-time friend, Will Smithtelling him he would catch the bullet if he didn't close the trap around it… according to court documents.
In November 2025, the actress-turned-podcaster was sued for $3 million. Hello Bilalwho claimed to have been Will's best friend for nearly 40 years, working closely together on several professional and personal projects.
In the lawsuit, Salaam says Jada approached him along with seven others in her entourage at Will's private 53rd birthday party at a movie theater in Calabasas, California, in September 2021.
Salaam claims that Jada “became verbally aggressive” and told him that if he continued to “share her private affairs” he would “end up missing or catching a bullet.”
What's more, Salaam says Jada “demanded” he sign a non-disclosure agreement “or else” … and then says one of Jada's associates followed him to his car while continuing to shout “verbal threats.” It is unclear what sparked the alleged altercation.

Then, in March 2022, Salaam says he refused to participate in Will's “crisis management” after the actor hit him. Chris Rock in the face on stage at the Oscars. Salam says he turned down the job because he did not want to “perform tasks that he felt were illegal, unethical or morally compromising.”
He claims Jada and Will's team then launched a “campaign of retaliation” against him, which intensified when the famous couple learned he was writing a “whistleblower memoir” about his time with them.
