Isaiah Rider ‘Blindsided’ By Protective Order That Led To Arrest, I Was Never Served!

Former NBA star Isaiah Ryder Breaks Silence About His Recent Arrest… Revealing TMZ Sport he had no idea he violated a protective order – because he claims he was never served!!

Earlier this week we told this story: The 1994 Slam Dunk champion was arrested Dec. 4 in Arizona and charged with one count of interfering with a judicial proceeding.

This all happened because of a protective order that his wife filed in July 2025. VanessaRyder was aggressive toward her and their son on multiple occasions, the statement said.

The protective order issued required that Isaiah have no contact with his wife and their 15-year-old son. He was also ordered to stay away from their home and his son's school.

What's the weirdest thing about Ryder?? He says they've been co-parenting and dating each other this whole time… and there haven't been any problems until he attended his son's basketball game. While returning home after the match, Ryder was stopped and arrested.

Ryder categorically denies ever having physical relations with his wife or their child… and hopes to set the record straight at his next trial.

Ryder's lawyer Benjamin Taylortold us his client was innocent… repeating the bully's claim that he was not violent.

As for how the protective order was issued in the first place, Taylor said it's a simple process in Arizona… and essentially said judges can just hand them out like candy if the defendant isn't present to defend himself.
