President Trump now says House Republicans should vote to release Epstein's files “because we have nothing to hide.”
IN True Social Post On Sunday night, he again called the issue a “Democratic hoax” designed to “deflect from the great success of the Republican Party.”
Trump noted in a lengthy post that the Department of Justice Further investigation is currently underway At his request, he focused on Democrats who knew the convicted sex offender.
Trump has faced pressure from his own party to make good on a campaign promise to release the Epstein investigation, leading to a rare rift in the Republican Party. In particular, he withdrew the support of Georgia Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, who was voting enthusiast.
Administration published thousands of personal files to the House Oversight Committee, but the Justice Department still has documents that have not been made public, including interviews with witnesses.
Members of the House of Representatives, including some Republicans, forced to vote release unclassified files held by the government. A vote is expected Tuesday, according to a source familiar with the House schedule but not authorized to disclose details publicly.
It is unclear whether the Senate will take up the issue, given Trump's apparent support for the move in the House. Trump himself will have to approve the release if it passes both houses.
