‘I’m not ready to die yet’: Dolly Parton breaks silence on illness rumours – National

UPDATE: Dolly Parton wants her fans to know that although there are “a lot of rumors going around,” she's doing okay.

Parton said that “lately everyone thinks I'm sicker than I am” and wanted to open up about her health struggles in an Instagram video.

“Well, it's October 8th, and obviously I'm here. … I look sick, don't you think? I'm working hard here,” Parton said on the set of a Grand Ole Opry commercial. “I wanted to reassure everyone who is really worried and I appreciate that – and I appreciate your prayers because I am a man of faith, I can always use prayers for anything and everything – but I want you to know that I am okay!”

“Like I said, I have some issues,” Parton continued. “When my husband Carl was very sick – it was for a long time – and then when he died, I didn't take care of myself, so I missed out on a lot of things that I should have taken care of. Anyway, when I got to that point, the doctor said we need to take care of this. We need to take care of this.”

She also joked about an AI photo circulating online showing her on her “deathbed” with Reba McEntire next to her.

“Did you see that AI photo of Reba and me? Oh, Lord! I mean, Reba was at my deathbed and we both look like we need to be buried. I thought, oh my Lord. But if I was really dying, I don't think Reba would be on my deathbed. She could have come to see me sooner,” she added.

“There's a lot of rumors going around, but I thought if you heard it from me, you'd know I'm okay,” she said. “Anyway, that's what I wanted to say and I'm not ready to die yet. I don't think God is done with me and I'm not done working yet. So I love you for caring and keep praying for me.”
