If you've ever been frustrated by how difficult it is to find a standalone PDF editor that doesn't charge you for personal use, then you'll be glad to hear about PDFgear. The app easily edits PDF files using annotations or direct file editing.
It works with text, images and graphics and allows you to convert PDF files into different file types, split and merge PDF files, and delete or add PDF pages. Here's how I use it to add notes to a PDF.
What to do:
- Download and install PDFgear on your computer. Open it and click Open file to open the PDF file.
- Go to the “Comments” section. Here you can highlight, underline and strikethrough text in PDF. You can also add shapes and callouts. To highlight specific areas, such as blocks of text, use the Select Area feature.
- Once you've finished annotating, go to the top left corner and click Save as to save the modified PDF file.
