Well, I admit it – I sleep with a fan every night. Maybe this is because I grew up in the south, and this is exactly what many people do. Nevertheless, some friends learned that I was doing this, and warned me about all health problems.
I use a fan to create a calm environment so that I can sleep well and wake up, feeling rejuvenation.
I decided to find out how the real effect of sleep with a fan was. There are both advantages and disadvantages, so let's look at …
Advantages

Let's start with some advantages of sleep with a fan:
- The fan can generate slightly white noise, masking any destructive noise.
- The temperature of the room is adjusted to make sure that it is not too hot.
- Air circulation can prevent allergens and reduce the “stuffy” room.
- Studies show that this can reduce the SVDS for babies from a decrease in the level of CO2.
Flaws
So, this is where I have problems with the fact that I have fans, and this is what my friends tried to warn me about:
- Dry skin and eyes are common because of the drying effect that the fan can have in the room.
- A permanent breeze can lead to hard muscles, especially if the fan blows right on you.
- If the fan is not cleaned regularly, it can kindle more dust and allergens.
- Some fans are noisy and can be anything but soothing.
Ultimately, you must do what suits you. If you are worried about dry skin and eyes, use a humidifier. You may also want to think about buying a fan that is environmentally friendly, quiet and has functions that allow you to use a large number of advantages and less disadvantages.
