Games “Broken Mirror” and Heavenly entertainment have unveiled a new I Hate This Place story trailer along with a revised release date. The eerie survival horror adventure is now scheduled for January 29, 2026. It will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and Xbox Series X|S.

The game, originally scheduled for release on November 7, 2025, has been delayed due to developer Rock Square Thunder needing additional time to polish features inspired by community feedback.

Additionally, the team has released a new trailer that chronicles the unsettling chaos unfolding at Rutherford Ranch and offers a closer look at the psychological and supernatural forces driving the story. The trailer also hints that players will uncover a deeper mystery when the full game releases early next year.

“We've received a lot of good feedback from events like PAX, Gamescom, Tokyo Game Show, as well as our recent public demo on Steam.” said Janusz Tarczykowski, Game Director at Rock Square Thunder. “The vision for the game remains the same, but this feedback highlighted a few tweaks or features that would really help the game feel much better. As we got closer to release, we had to continue to move many of these additions to post-launch support. But we believe the game deserves to make a good first impression, so we rethought things and, together with Broken Mirror Games, decided to move the date to January 2026.”

Tarczykowski also explained that quality assurance across all platforms played an important role in this decision. With the extra development time, the team is committed to creating the best possible version of I Hate This Place from day one. The game promises to provide an experience that combines psychological tension, horror and mystery into one suspenseful package.
