Hulu is now on Disney+ Canada — here’s what you need to know

Hulu has finally arrived in Canada – well, sort of.

On Wednesday, the Disney-owned service was added to Disney+ worldwide, including in Canada. He replaced Star Branding which was used in Canada and other international markets.

It should be noted that this doesn't really make a big difference to the actual user experience. However, before we get into that, it's important to note that Disney will raise the price of Disney+ to $3 in Canada this November. This is in line with price increases for Disney+ around the world, including in the US, so it's not specifically related to the Hulu news.

All of Star's old content is still on Disney+, only now it's branded as Hulu. This means that names like Only murders in the building, Kardashian, Futurama And Alien: Earth now I'm falling under Hulu special tab instead of the Star. And like other tiles on Disney+, the Hulu tile comes with its own animated effect—in this case, a glowing green light.

Disney says Hulu's rebrand is part of a larger effort to create a “fully integrated, unified experience” next year. While we don't know exactly what this means, the company has announced some other UX tweaks. This includes easier navigation through a new For You tab, more personalized recommendations, more dynamic content pages that feature characters from a given movie or show, and iOS widgets. The company also announced new “mobile and exclusive mobile apps” coming “next year.”

If anything, the biggest change to Disney+ in Canada in a while. was the launch of the Perks rewards program in Canada..
