In true Toronto sportsmanship style, the Major League Baseball (MLB) Blue Jays brought the American League Championship Series (ALCS) to game seven.
The winner-take-all showdown is scheduled for today, Monday, October 20, 2024, at the Rogers Center here in Toronto, Ontario. Start time is 8:08 p.m. at the Rogers Center.
George Kirby starts for the Seattle Mariners. Kirby is looking to bounce back from his last postseason appearance, when he gave up eight runs in Game 3 of the ALCS, which Seattle lost 13-4. Seattle has avoided starting him on the road this season as all three of his starts so far have been at home in Seattle. However, with no other options, Seattle hopes it can keep the game tight so the Mariners' offense can punch its ticket to the Fall Classic.
The Blue Jays will start Shane Bieber for his second start of the series. Bieber also pitched in Game 3, going six innings with two earned runs and eight strikeouts. The Blue Jays added Bieber at the trade deadline and are hoping for a similar performance to earn Canada's first World Series berth since 1993.
The winner of Game 7 will face the Los Angeles Dodgers. one of a kind match in the World Series, Game 1 will be played on Friday, October 24th.
