The MLS playoffs have officially started. The postseason will feature a best-of-three playoffs, followed by one-game semifinals, a conference final and the MLS Cup. It was a big year for the league, with its 30th season marked by the addition of San Diego's 30th team and the signing of major international stars such as Thomas Muller to the Vancouver Whitecaps and Son Heung-min to LAFC.
The League's broadcast partner, Apple TV, has simplified the playoffs streaming this year, making access available to all Apple TV subscribers. Previously, watching most MLS games required an MLS Season Pass, available as a separate subscription in the Apple TV app. Here's what you need to know about broadcasting every playoff game in the postseason.

How to watch MLS online without cable
MLS is currently in the third season of its 10-year partnership with Apple TV. Apple supports standalone MLS Season Pass subscription via the Apple TV app. An MLS Season Pass is not required to watch the playoffs this season as Apple TV has made the games available to all subscribers. Select games will be available on cable and satellite via FOX or FS1. available through Fubo.

You can stream playoff games on Apple TV or the MLS Season Pass, which is available with a one-week free trial. Additionally, you can watch playoff games on FS1, which is available with DirecTV and other streaming services.
Do you need Apple TV for an MLS Season Pass?
The MLS Season Pass does not require an Apple TV subscription, but you do need the Apple TV app, which is available on most smart TV operating systems and streaming devices such as Fire TV, Roku and Google Chromecast with TV. Apple TV subscribers can now access the playoffs without having to purchase a separate MLS Season Pass.
