Football manager 26 is currently in beta with extended access, and things aren't looking too good for the community.

As expected, there are reports of crashes occurring for some players. The problem appears to occur on both Windows and Mac. There are also times when a new game engine does not visually perform as expected.

Fortunately, there are a few things we can do to minimize the likelihood of failures before full launch. November 4.

Here are some basics to help minimize the likelihood of failure.

• Update your graphics driver to the latest version. This is important whether you are using an Nvidia model or an AMD model. You can use the native client to check for updates first. The updated driver, if available, will be automatically downloaded and installed on your system.
• I found that it's better to run Football manager 26 beta version in windowed mode instead of full screen. While windowed mode has certain limitations, it seems to run more smoothly when you're in a match in real time.

I also mentioned that I think it's best to use the settings while we're still in the Accessibility beta.

Here's the current set of settings I'm using, and performance has remained consistent after an initial period of stuttering and crashing.

• Screen resolution: 1920×1080 (personal preference)
• Text scaling: normal
• Graphics Quality: Balanced (set to Low or Very Low depending on your system)/Custom.

If you select the Custom option, make the following changes.

• Mesh Detail: Low
• Shadow quality: Average
• Texture quality: Low
• Antialiasing: disabled

If your system is still experiencing problems, simply switch to the 2D setting during matches. While you'll miss out on the brilliance of the new match engine, you'll ensure better save progress (only if your hardware isn't powerful enough).
