This is an unpleasant topic. But this is important advice whether you're 30 or 90.
If something happened to you tomorrow, would your family be able to infiltrate your digital life? I'm talking about yours bank accountsemail, cryptocurrency and lifelong memories stored on your phone or computer.
Big Tech and other companies won't hand over your data or passwords, even to your spouse, without issue, if at all.
1. 10 minute installation
Start with a legacy contact. Think about someone you trust who will only gain access after you leave. Who is this? Good.

2. Problem with the master key
Apple and Google do not help with banking, insurance, investment and other sites and applications. You need a strong password manager like NordPass that offers emergency access features.
1. Open your password manager and search Emergency access.
2. Add a digital heir: Enter your spouse's or trusted child's email address.
3. Set a safe delay: Select the waiting period. Usually 7 days this is the golden mean.
4. How does this work: If your contact ever requests access, the app will send you an alert. If you're okay, you're in. Deny. But if you are incapacitated and unable to respond within these seven days, the storage for them will be automatically unlocked.
Advice: Your emergency contact number receives viewing rights only. They won't be able to delete or change anything in your storage.

3. Cryptocurrency and social networks
· Crypto: Without your initial phrases, this money will be lost. Keep them physically along with all instructions and receipts for cryptocurrency purchases along with your inheritance documents. If you use a hardware crypto wallet, store it in a fireproof safe.
· Social media: On Facebook or Instagram, go to Settings > Memorialization. Choose whether your account will be deleted or managed by a contact who can post a final tribute.
Make sure someone knows the password to your phone. This is important for 2FA codes, among other things.
