Like all other biomes, the Roots are fraught with many dangers. The tropical forest zone is home to dangerous flora in the form of various mushrooms, which can be quite dangerous due to the spores they produce.
This guide will help you avoid danger and earn the Tread Luightly badge in PEAK.
PEAK Tread Lightly Badge Walkthrough
Spores are a harmful effect that only applies in the Roots biome. You will see sporadic clouds of spores in the air. If you are trying to dodge a spider or zombie, you may accidentally walk into such an area and become infected.
There is another way to get spores – from mushrooms. Spores appear on your stamina bar like other negative ailments. They stack based on when you take damage. If you're focused on getting the Tread With Care badge, you'll want to be careful when approaching mushroom bombs. Ideally, you should avoid any bomb that may come your way.
However, this is easier said than done and you may end up with disputes. To earn the Tread With Care badge, you can occasionally take damage from spores (under unavoidable circumstances). You are eligible to receive a badge as long as it does not exceed 25% until you advance to the next level through Roots.
Here's what you can do after you've been infected with spores. Use any healing items in your inventory once the spores are above 10% (approximately). It could be a “Cure for all ills” that automatically cures all negative ailments. The antidote is also known to work and you can also heal yourself with the Healing Root. Searching for them can also help you find Mandrake (depends on your luck).
The Roots update also added a new element called Fortified milk. Drinking this milk creates a temporary barrier that stops all types of incoming damage and ailments. You can use it to stop a dose of an incoming spore attack and still qualify for the Tread With Care badge.
These are pretty much all the options you have when it comes to clearing roots with spore damage of 25% or less.
